Fille Collection
The Fille Collection is inspired by a workshop between Thorsønn, fashion house Lillunn and Norwegian Fashion & Textile Agenda to investigate ways to reduce post-production waste in the fashion industry. From this, Thorsønn received a stock of lambswool offcuts from Lillunn, which we have turned into a large collection over the years. Each product is one of a kind and carefully curated.

Fille Trivets & Seating Pads
The Fille Trivets and Seating Pads can be used to protect your table from hot pots and pans, as well as your backside from cold outdoor surfaces. Take the seating pads for a hike in the mountains and clip them effortlessly to your backpack via the leather strap. Made from two layers of thick lambswool scraps, they provide a luscious cushiony layer between you and the great outdoors. The Fille Trivets and Seating Pads come in three sizes and can be purchased exclusively at Norway Designs. Made in Oslo.
Fille Rugs
The rugs are a modern interpretation of the Norwegian “fillerye” or scrap rug translated, an age old tradition of using waste material or scraps to make rugs. Making the rugs is a time-consuming process. The scraps are cut, tied together and woven all by hand. The knots woven into the rug massage your feet when you walk on it. Through extensive prototyping we developed a pattern that we describe as a “deconstructed” fillerye; with loose ends creating a fringe along the sides that shows how the rug is constructed. The fringe also compliments the clean lines of the Thorsønn sofas. The Fille Rugs are woven in Oslo.
“We were so inspired by the quality of Lillunn textiles. We wanted to create something that emphasised the material as well as the traditional technique used to repurpose them.” — Jennifer Valone
Fille Blankets
In the Fille Blankets we could utilise the scrap pieces in a different way, showing off patterns both in the fabric and in the beautiful seams used to stitch the patches together. Patchwork, like fillerye, is a traditional method of repurposing fabrics. Patchwork was used by ancient Egyptians for their clothes, wall decorations, draperies and furniture, with oldest depictions from 5,500 years ago. Lillunn has experience with patchwork so the obvious partner for production was Lillunn's own factory in Oslo.
Fille Pillows
As a continuation of the patchwork style of the blankets, we created the Fille Pillows. These are made from even smaller scraps, and therefore a great way to make use of the pieces that weren’t suited to be a rug or a blanket. Thorsønn designed patchwork patterns to be used by our seamstress, that best utilise the most common scrap shapes. These unique pillows adds a touch of modernised traditional character to the interior. The Fille Pillows are made in Oslo.
Fille Oven Mitts
The Fille Oven Mitts protect your hands from heat while adding a personal touch to the kitchen. Our pattern design made from three pieces of scrap fabric means they provide a better range of motion for your hands and therefore a better grip. The mitts are lined with a heat protectant layer and feature a leather strap to hang them up. The Fille Oven Mitts are made in Oslo.
